Digging up Dahlias at the Tuakau & District Museum
Event description
The Dahlias have finished flowering, and it's time to save seeds and dig up the tubers
Want to help?
I'll be at the museum on Thursday from around 10am weeding and making the next compost pile, and then from 11am (after morning tea), I'll start tidying up the Dahlia plants, putting the precious tubers into boxes of wood shavings for storing through the winter.
All help welcome - we'll be labelling the colours where I can remember which plant was what colour.
All welcome
Thursday mornings are volunteering days at the museum, so you can wander around the premises and chat with the people working on a wide range of exhibits. It's a fascinating place to hang out, and a lovely group of people.
Each week I apply the biodynamic CPP preparation (cow pat pit), so if you'd like to try this then bring a bottle to take some home with you.
