Digital Boss X: Shipit Weekend!

The Digital Boss X: Shipit Weekend is the perfect opportunity to finally get your head down and focus on those tasks that have been lingering on your business to-do list for far too long. 

If you’re based in Victoria and aged 18-25 and have an exisiting business, or business idea you want to develop then come along and join us. Attendees will also have the opportunity to apply for $100 of seed funding to invest in helping get their business idea off the ground.

During this 10 hour Shippit event (over Friday evening and Saturday) you’ll meet other like-minded people learn some tips to supercharge your productivity and refine and validate your business ideas and get a tick of a bunch of things on your to-do list. 

Attendees of the Shippit Weekend will receive $100 in seed funding to go towards tech licenses and resources!

"Shipit day, which was first introduced by Atlassian, as a day where you drop your routine work and develop a proof of concept of an innovative idea. At Atlassian you could create something directly related to the company business or an idea which captures your imagination or engages your passion. Then, at the end of the 24 hours you'd to pitch your idea to the audience."

We use this tool at Young Change Agents too, and our experienced facilitators will help guide you through the process.

Weekend Agenda:

Friday 21st July 4:30pm - 7:30pm

  • Get to know each other and meet hear from our guest speaker Sakshi Thakur (check out her bio below) she’ll take your through an activity to help you find your business purpose 
  • We’ll have some food available to keep you going through the evening during the dinner break.
  • Elevator pitches (tell us what it is you’re working on or would like to create), get to know your business customers and how to develop an Minimum Viable Product MVP. 
  • Learn how to best manage your time over the weekend and set your Shipit goals that you want to get done over the weekend.

Saturday 22nd July 9:30am - 4:30pm 

  • A day dedicated to getting things done! You’ll learn how to validation your ideas and get feedback from your customers
  • Create a business model canvas or social lean canvas
  • Spend more time building out and deloping your MVP 
  • Learn about building relationships with your customers and staying healthy as an entrepreneur
  • Lot’s of dedicated work time throughout to make sure to reach your goals! 
  • We’ll also have lunch and snacks and coffee throughout the day to keep you going.

Special Guest Speaker: Sakshi Thakur 

Sakshi Thakur is the founder and CEO of Humanism, a social enterprise that aspires to eliminate global poverty—one job at a time. Founded in 2018, the social enterprise employs women who face social and economic barriers to safe employment in Pondicherry, South India. The women hand make wholesale textile merchandise and retail products for Australian and international events and stores.

Sakshi is also a Manager at SENVIC (Social Enterprise Network Victoria) working towards supporting social enterprises thrive in Victoria, and an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) at Catalysr supporting migrants and refugees building businesses and startups. Prior to this, Sakshi studied Biomedical Science and Commerce, worked at EY in Finance for a few years, then pursued further study with the Masters of Entrepreneurship at Melbourne Business School where she worked on her first tech startup. Through all her work, her mission is to see an equitable world that leaves no human behind.
