Digital Lean Introductory Workshop
Learn how to boost business productivity with Industry 4.0
Facilitated by Callaghan Innovation manufacturing expert Robert Blache, our free Digital Lean Introductory Workshop will explore how to expand on existing Lean capabilities and maximise use of digital technologies through Digital Lean.
The interactive workshop is for businesses that already have a Lean culture in place, and will explore how our Digital Lean programme can boost your competitive advantage through Industry 4.0, the fusion of technologies that’s blurring the lines between the physical, digital and cyber-physical. Callaghan Innovation’s co-funded Digital Lean programme (you pay 60%, we pay 40%, up to a maximum of $20,000) provides access to a specialised service provider to help your business build capacity over a maximum of 12 months.
The three-hour workshop will include:
- A brief overview of basic Lean concepts
- A hands-on exercise based on a real-world case study to identify Lean capabilities and extend them to Industry 4.0 solutions
- Industry 4.0 success stories
- Examples of how Industry 4.0 is an extension of Lean principles
- Tips on identifying Industry 4.0 risks and mitigating them
- Examples of Digital Lean benefits and how to maximise opportunities
- Advice on implementing Digital Lean in your business and what to ask service providers.

- Hosted in-person at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds, VIP Lounge, as part of NZ’s leading food and packaging technology exhibition, Foodtech Packtech.
- Cost per person: FREE
The workshop is strictly limited to 30 people, with a maximum of three people from each business.
Facilitator: Robert Blache
Robert Blache is a Callaghan Innovation Customer Manager, focusing on high-value manufacturing businesses. Prior to this, Robert analysed global innovation trends and market dynamics to help NZ businesses identify opportunities and challenges. He specialises in Advanced Manufacturing, a rapidly evolving sector where digital technologies, Industry 4.0 and 3D printing create growing commercial opportunities.
We’ll also have two vouchers worth up to the value of $5000 up for grabs, to be used towards the cost of working with the business's chosen supplier after signing up to Callaghan Innovation's Lean or Digital Lean programme.
