    digitizing your artwork

    Tuesday, November 12th | 6 PM | Our Lady of the Snows | $5 | Sign-up Required

In this class, students will learn how to digitize their artwork to suit their medium and preferences. The learning focus is to discover what is available to them, what the process of digitizing looks like, and then to decide what will work for them. This course appeals to artists who are starting their businesses and want to create prints or are ready to take a step towards digitizing their artwork (as opposed to sending their art to other businesses to replicate). Students will learn about 1. how to capture your artwork with a camera 2. how to crop and color edit (and where!) and 3. where to print your reproductions/prints. Students will leave class with a paper of suggestions for each step, their questions answered!, experience working with each of the digital programs we explain (Adobe, Apple Photos/Google Photos, or Befunky.com), and newfound confidence!

Sarah is a self-taught genderqueer artist exploring expression of identity and joy through painting, digital art, and block-printing. Acrylic art was and is her first love, and other mediums have come along the way. Sarah grew up in Wyoming and moved to Utah for school, where they studied Theatre Education. She now teaches middle school theatre and makes art on the side! After they began creating paintings that she wanted to share with more than one person, Sarah realized they needed to figure out a way to create replicas/recreations/prints of my work. She paints primarily on canvas or thrifted wooden wall hangings, which manning scanning impossible. 2-D artists, such as watercolor artists, are able to scan their paintings to digitize them. With their DIY background, they decided to take it upon herself to figure out "their" way to digitize her unique pieces without breaking the bank.

ACE aims to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all of our attendees; please contact our Executive Director, Sara Gibbs, with any questions regarding accessibility.
