    Event description

Dilate. 009 - Sa Pa (Absurd Lustre/DE) *Limited capacity*

    -

Sa Pa freely explores high-fidelity sound art in an attempt to reflect the subtle dissonance and melody of modernist, futuristic music.

An intrepid live act, versatile DJ, and adventurous storyteller - Sa Pa uses freeform rhythms, drums and the sonic phenomena of field recordings to weave wild soundscapes of spatiotemporal immersion. Inspired by memory, the mystery of time, and environmental themes - the artist applies dub, minimal and ambient influences to a rare mix of complex frequencies, pure tones and cutting edge sounds.

Presenting a truly unique experience for the dancefloor and deeper listening environment - existentialism, liminality and leitmotifs of the absurd also inform Sa Pa’s work. The artist has released music with Astral Industries, Mana and Marcel Dettmann Records, to newer upstart imprints like Rosa and Lamassu since the release of his debut opus Fuutbutsushi (風物詩).

Sa Pa’s collaborative album with Deadbeat, The Mountain, was crowned as BLKHRTZ’s 50th release, which followed other collaborative projects with Berlin institution Ostgut Ton, and a single remix piece for the Swedish label Kontra Musik and its 10 Years X compilation.

In a bid to re-contextualise how nightclubs, concert performances and festivals can be experienced, Sa Pa established Absurd Lustre - a series of conceptually immersive and self-curated events conceived as a contemporary response to cultural and social norms.
