SEE Change Biodiversity Gungahlin offers an exciting journey into Namadgi National Park, seeking Australia's iconic canine—the dingo. For thousands of years, dingos thrived across diverse biomes, a crucial apex predator holding deep cultural significance for our First Peoples. But the truth is in some parts of Australia numbers of this crucial apex predator have drastically declined.

Help is coming! Our guest speaker advocates for the adaptive management of dingoes guided by science so that dingoes and humans can coexist.

Our guide into the National Park, PhD candidate James Vandersteen, is researching the vital role dingoes play as apex predators in maintaining ecosystem health in the Australian Alps. Our exploration with James to his Orroral Valley research sites will feature citizen science activities and insights from remote cameras—hopefully catching glimpses of dingoes!

We will meet at the Orroral Valley Former Tracking Station. James will share his conservation experiences and research insights, highlighting how this work can drive positive change in conservation policy.
