Dinner, Yarn & Adventure: A Wellbeing Night
Description
A community‑building activity designed especially for regional and interstate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in their 1st or 2nd year of study.
🌿 A night to connect, unwind, and have fun
The event begins with an icebreaker activity, followed by dinner and a yarn with other students from regional and interstate areas – this is a great opportunity to form early friendships with peers who share similar experiences of studying away from home.
🔐 Escape room challenge
Students will then take part in a team‑based escape room challenge, working together in a fun, low‑pressure environment that encourages teamwork and shared achievement.
📅 Date & Time: 15th of October (week 9), approximately 5pm to 8:30pm.
📍Locations: Jeffery Smart Building, Level 1 Café, City West Campus. And Fox in a Box Escape Rooms.
🍽️ Food and drink: Pizza and soft drink.
👥 Who is involved? Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from metro and regional campuses, and metro and regional staff/SSOs.
🕛 Timeline breakdown:
5pm – 6:30pm: Ice breakers and dinner.
6:30pm – 6:50: Short walk to escape room location on Hindley Street.
7pm – 8:30pm: Escape room activity.
