Dino Diggers: Palaeontology Adventure for Kids
Event description
It’s time to trade screens for green, and get active in the beautiful Plenty Gorge Park. Our Dino Diggers : Palaeontology Adventure for Kids offers kids a chance to connect with a real Palaeontologist, encourage their curiosity for ages gone by, build new connections as well as confidence in the great outdoors. We will marvel at the gorge's majestic rock formations – layers of ancient volcanic activity, moving down to the lake where layers of sedimentary bedrock were formed under water.
"Dino Diggers" is led by Diana, a qualified palaeontologist and archaeologist, whose knowledge will take us millions of years into the past, exploring the mysteries of fossils, bones, and traces of creatures long gone. Learning through engaging games, nature walks, and up-close encounters with real fossils, children will even create their own fossil-inspired art piece to take home!
Our program is designed to nurture independence, boost self-esteem, and cultivate questioning to ignite curiosity and foster a deep appreciation for our planet's rich history.
Suitable for children 4 - 12 y/o.
Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encouraged to participate in the fun!
This school holiday program is an all weather outdoor session so participants need to make sure to bring weather appropriate protection.
In the event of inclement weather the program will be either shifted to an undercover location. Cancellation will only occur in the event of extreme weather warnings: fire, strong winds, storm or high temperatures.
