Direct form Japan the founder and master distiller, Tatsuya Usami, will present a one off Australian tasting of Shinobu Whisky. This is a rare opportunity to get to know the whisky from the maker himself.
Tatsuya Usami, the founder behind Shinobu Whisky, Usami-san brings decades of experience in brewing and distillation, having transitioned from beer brewing to whisky production with a deep respect for traditional methods and a bold spirit of innovation. Expect personal insights, generous pours, and an intimate glimpse into the soul of Japanese whisky.
Shinobu means “forbearance” in Japanese, to infer to the excellent quality of the whisky distilled under the harsh wintery conditions. Hailing from Niigata, a region in Japan known for its “Three Whites” of snow, rice and sake, the decision to make whisky stems from how the distinct seasons make for ample spring water that is pure and natural.
