Julia Farr Purple Orange in partnership with the Hispanic Women’s Association of South Australia are hosting their first of six series of Disability Awareness and NDIS Workshops. These workshops will be held monthly on every third Friday of the month. The workshops are free of charge.
- When: Friday July 23, 2021
- Where: Thebarton Community Centre, corner of South Road and Ashwin Parade in Torrensville. There is parking on site.
- Time: 9:30am for 10:00am start to 2:00pm
Lunch will be provided
Guest Speakers:
- Robbi William Purple Orange CEO to talk about JFA Purple Orange.
- Belle Owen from JFA Purple Orange Disability Inclusion Program to talk about disability. What is disability? What are the types of disability? What is the appropriate and acceptable language to use when communicating with people with disabilities? What is your understanding of disability in the medical, social, legal, government, and cultural context?
- Esther Simbi SKILL CALD Project to talk about disability and culture from the CALD perspective.
