This workshop is for DISABLED, CHRONICALLY ILL, IMMUNCOMPROMISEd, &/OR NEUROSPICY FOLKS especially if you are still covid cautious!
OH the love and care we've missed. Just trying to survive.
This poetry workshop is for us. Left behind. Us. Having found out our best is not enough to survive. Us. Who know the answer is in each other, together. Who deserve it all. Us. Creating the kind of worlds and relationships that are honored to have us. Celebrating our very being.
Come with yearning, your heartbreak, your optimism, your futures, your spicy feels *star emoji*
Layout:
We will do introductions; I will provide context for the workshop.
We will read from Disabled poets, analyze their writing and write our own.
We ill def have time to share out :)

About Your Facilitator:
Rise is a queer Black disabled genderfluid femmeboi; A visual artist, poet, full spectrum (birth/postpartum/grief & loss/abortion) birtworker, yoga teacher, meditation facilitator, gender affirming and trauma informed care and disability justice educator, access consultant and community care worke.
Rise is deeply invested in disability justice, access, centering wellness for Black queer folk, trauma education, and rest. Also of course! A lover of doing the most.
