Disability Law - Know Your Rights
Event description
EGL Waitaha Regional Leadership Team, Aspire Canterbury and Disabled Persons Assembly NZ (DPA) are proud to host free sessions on disabled people's rights.
Both days will be at BrainTree Wellness Centre, 70 Langdon’s Road, Papanui, Christchurch.
11 April 2025
- Session 1 - 10am to 11.30am - Your rights in Employment
Suitable for disabled people, parents/whānau and other support people and will cover what can and cannot be asked in an interview, reasonable accommodations in the workplace, pay/leave entitlements and disability related dismissals.
Break - 11.30am to 12.15pm - Finger-food plus hot and cold drinks will be provided for free. There is also a cafe onsite where you can purchase barista coffee and other items.
- Session 2 - 12.15pm to 1.45pm - Your Housing rights
Suitable for disabled people, parents/whānau and other support people and will cover rights and responsibilities as a tenant, landlords’ obligations and how to resolve problems in a tenancy.

Parking
There is free parking, including accessible parking, at the venue.
Support Person
If you have a support person attending with you, please book a free ticket for them as well.
