Join us on Tuesday 23rd January 2024 for the launch of our world first study examining the intersection between long-COVID and intimate partner violence.

Despite well-established evidence of the increased risk of intimate partner violence during the first two years of the pandemic, to date there has been no research globally that examines how victim-survivors’ experiences of long COVID will uniquely impact their safety and support needs. This research, which has been conducted in partnership with Safe+Equal, the Victorian peak body for specialist family violence services, seeks to address this critical gap in current knowledge.

Ginger Gorman, award-winning social justice journalist, will MC this launch.

Professor Kate Fitz-Gibbon and Dr Jasmine McGowan will present key findings including policy and practice implications from the new research on the intersection between experiences of long-covid and intimate partner violence.

The presentation of research findings will be followed by a panel discussion on women’s safety during and beyond the pandemic.
