Marama Hopkins

After 20 years away from photography, Marama picked up a camera again during COVID and set about re-learning in digital to document some of the biodiversity on her property in far northeastern NSW. As a conservation biologist, she quickly became enchanted by native bees and now spends her lunch breaks doing laps of the garden, recording the visitors and learning their names and behaviour.

Jarred Walker

Jarred Walker is a photographer and digital creator with a love for capturing the beauty of nature. He has been behind the camera for over ten years and has recently begun working with Australian Geographic as a freelance photographer. Jarred focuses on a range of subjects, including bee food security, culture and environmental issues within the dawn of Anthropocene.

Aaron Molenkamp

Self-taught out of Bathurst, NSW, Aaron is the founder of and creative mind behind Nightfall

Photography. His passion for capturing the essence of nature, particularly through the specialty of
freezing insects for macro, fuels his ongoing search for excellence. Colourful, intimate and
idiosyncratic, Aaron’s work has been featured in BBC Earth projects and Australian Geographic, as
well as in the industry’s leading wildlife photography magazines.

Mirabai Nicholson-McKellar

Mirabai won the gold medal for bee photography at Apimondia 2019 in Montréal. She has a single-minded passion for bees, and her bee videos have been featured three times in Apple’s shot on iPhone campaigns. She created the launch film for a record-breaking crowdfunding campaign for the revolutionary beehive invention Flow Hive, raising the company over 15 million dollars. Mirabai aims to spend her life documenting the importance of the world's twenty thousand bee species and to educate the world, through incredible imagery, about how fascinating and important bees are.
