Celebrate Seniors Month with a vibrant day of creativity, movement and community connection in Bridgewater at the Brighton Civic Centre. Try your hand at Djembe drumming, line dancing, pottery painting, take a strength and movement class or sew some hearts for the 1000 Hearts Project. There are a range of engaging activities designed to inspire, entertain and bring people together. Whether you're keen to learn something new, reconnect with old friends or simply enjoy a fun day out, there's something for everyone. Morning tea and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

10am-12pm - Pottery Painting with Tylah from Stonedust Pottery

Get creative with Tylah from Stonedust Pottery in this relaxed and enjoyable pottery painting session. Choose your piece, pick your colours and create something uniquely yours, with Tylah on hand to guide and encourage you along the way.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or haven’t picked up a paintbrush in years, this is a chance to slow down, have some fun and enjoy a creative activity in good company. No artistic experience necessary — just come along and give it a go!

10am-11.30am 1000 Hearts Project with Rosina Engler

Join our local Community Volunteer of the Year Rosina Engler for a relaxed and meaningful sewing session as part of the 1000 Hearts Project.

Learn how to sew and create your own fabric heart while enjoying a cuppa, a chat and some creative time together. The 1000 Hearts Project is all about spreading kindness, connection and a little bit of joy — one heart at a time.

No sewing experience is necessary. Whether you’re an experienced stitcher or have never picked up a needle and thread, Rosie will guide you through the process and help you create a heart to share.

Come along, make something with heart and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating together.

Discover the joy of rhythm with John Flack from Brighton Council in this fun, interactive and uplifting djembe drumming session.

Djembe drumming is a wonderful way to connect through listening and responding to the rhythms of others, taking turns, and creating something together as a group. This responsive style of drumming encourages connection, focus and participation, while the shared rhythm can be both calming and energising.

Learn some simple rhythms, experiment with different beats and enjoy the positive experience of making music together. No musical experience is needed. Find your rhythm and enjoy the benefits of connection and making music together.

11.30am – 12.15pm Beginners Line Dancing with Leanne Daisy Cleary

Come along and enjoy a fun line dancing session with Leanne Daisy Cleary from Versa Moves Dance Group — perfect for beginners. Just bring comfortable shoes and a smile!

Leanne will guide you through some simple steps and routines in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Whether you’re new to line dancing or simply looking for a fun way to get moving, this is a great opportunity to enjoy music, meet others and have a laugh along the way.

12.30pm - 30-Minute Low-Impact Strength & Movement Class

Join Sophie from MBS Fitness for a fun and friendly 30-minute low-impact strength class designed especially for all abilities. You’ll work on strength, balance, mobility and everyday movement through simple, achievable exercises in a supportive environment. Come along, have a go and enjoy moving with others.
