Discovering Shells Artmaking Workshop

Calling children, parents, art & nature lovers!
Enjoy a morning of artmaking inspired by shells found in our local Harbour.
This workshop will include a 30 min ambling discovery walk to the Shellharbour Village boat ramp (Pram and wheelchair friendly).Â
Participants will explore the namesake of Shellharbour and come back to the studio inspired for some artmaking.Â

Who:Â This workshop is suitable for ages 8 years to 108. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by either a registered participating adult, or, have an adult present with them as a bystander for the duration of the workshop.
What to bring:Â Please bring a hat, water, snacks and sunscreen.
Facilitator:
Resident artist, Stephanie Quirk, is an emerging artist based in Illawarra (Dharawal country). Quirk's growing career spans local, Sydney, and international exhibitions, with experience in community engagement projects, painting, performance, and site-specific sculptural installation.Â
Quirk’s artistic expertise stems from a Bachelor's (Hons) and a Master's Degree in Fine Arts from Sydney College of the Arts, coupled with a Master's in Education from the University of Technology.Â
Quirk is currently part of Shellharbour City Council's Incubator Artist in Residence program. This program is based for 4 weeks at The Imaginarium, a creative space in Shellharbour Village. It provides emerging artists with a dedicated space and time to cultivate new work, explore ideas and develop their practice.
