    Discovery Day

    Students currently in Year 5 and Year 6 and who are not already enrolled to attend Tatachilla Lutheran College are warmly invited to spend an afternoon at our school and discover what’s on offer in Year 7 and the opportunities that await them in secondary school.

    Participants will also have the opportunity to spend time in our award-winning EcoClassroom, meet our native animals and learn about our re-wilding programs.
     

    Bookings are essential and places are limited.

    Parents are welcome to join students at the end of the day to meet key staff and enjoy a communal barbecue (bookings are not required for parents).

    Wednesday 25 October  |  1.30pm

    1.30pm
    - students arrive at the Tatachilla gymnasium foyer
    1.30pm - 4.00pm:
    students enjoy a diverse range of Year 7 experiences across the arts, sport, technology and science

    This will include::

    • complete a physical education class with senior students from Tatachilla’s Advanced Athlete Academy who are competing at a district, state or national level
    • explore botanical plants and transform these into an oil pastel monoprint
    • use hand tools and wood-working machines to produce a timber phone stand
    • acquire new skills in agricultural science through succulent propagation, worm farm mixing, egg candling, seed planting and the use of iFarm technology
    • tour the college’s award-winning EcoClassroom Sanctuary - home to our resident population of native bettongs, potoroos and wallabies - and learn about our re-wilding programs.

    5.00pm - parents join students at the EcoClassroom Sanctuary for barbecue tea and have the opportunity to speak with key staff
