Discussing GenAI in the workplace

There is promise in the social discourse about AI governance for the common good in Australia, but digital technologies have proven particularly adept at scaling-up and normalising their place in society before regulation can act, and often before their collective impacts are experienced. How will this time be different and what’s at stake, collectively?

Join us at the UTS Data Arena to discuss a pilot study into sentiments and experiences of high-frequency users of GenAI in Australian workplaces: How should employers respond to this emerging industrial transformation? Where in a work process should AI not be used to support or automate, even if it could? And, how might we redesign the public university and prepare graduates for a future where GenAI is ubiquitous?

The Data Arena will be used to walk through our research process and what we found, before we open up a discussion with attendees. The session will invite you to share your experiences with GenAI, building on findings and provocations from the research.
