Join the Doctors in Secondary Schools Clinical Training Program's Breakfast Club.

Each fortnight throughout Term 4, we will be speaking with specialists to discuss common issues presenting in young people. These sessions are designed for clinicians, nurses and educators.

    • Describe the role of primary care clinicians in schools in assessing young people presenting with period or pelvic pain 
    • Discuss the contribution of factors to the development of pelvic pain 
    • Describe management options and interventions for treating pelvic pain 
    • Participate in a community of practice and peer learning

DiSS BITS Part 4: Understanding and accepting myself 


  • Discuss the role of brief interventions for YP with low to moderate mental ill-health in school-based health services 
  • Examine a case plan for a young person working through the relevant Brief Intervention Toolkit module  
  • Construct a practical approach to using the Orygen brief intervention toolkit modules through case-based discussion. 
  • Participate in a community of practice and peer learning. 

Wednesday 13 November 7.30am-8.30am

Unwell at any body size: Teens with eating disorders and higher weight 



    • Describe the role of primary care clinicians in schools assessing people with higher weight who are at risk of an eating disorder 
    • Discuss screening tools in practice to identify eating disorders for young people at higher weight 
    • Describe collaborative care and management options for Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia Nervosa and other eating disorders for YP of higher weight 
    • Participate in a community of practice and peer learning 


Topics and titles are subject to change. These series events have been approved in the RACGP 2023-2025 triennium as a 3-hour activity (Activity 603049): 3 hours of Reviewing Performance.
