****SPEAKER BIOS - DISCUSSION PANEL****

Orielle Anaïs, Speaker - Orielle’s [1992, Santa Barbara] art examines the connection between humanity's dissociation from the animal aspects of our bodies and the global relationship with women, proposing that this relationship is crucial to the health—or destruction—of our planet. Orielle’s current body of work explores perceptions of women, the safety of sensuality, and centralizing the female form in the attention of viewers. The work invites viewers to consider women as partners in stewardship, not as objects of others’ gaze. Orielle’s work challenges dogma, particularly regarding the female experience. The mixed messages of how a woman is meant to exist are central to Orielle’s perspective that a woman’s body belongs to her, and the male gaze is not something to be reviled and rejected, but re-trained from fetishization and shaming to reverence and respect. Orielle’s work builds on the first waves of the Feminist Art Movement in the West and Ancient Greek views on the nude body being a source of spiritual pride rather than sin. Orielle’s art is able to express joy and pleasure in a woman’s body because of the path carved by female artists like Marina Abramovic and Frida Kahlo who weathered and overcame the male-dominated perspective of womanhood, female bodies, pain, and pleasure.

Marco Pinter, Speaker - Marco creates artwork and performances which fuse physical kinetic form with live visualizations. He has a PhD in Media Arts and Technology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an undergraduate degree from Cornell University. Pinter is also the founder of MindClay, creating mental wellness interventions based in visual art, music, movement and writing. His artistic research has been supported by grants from the David Bermant Foundation, the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center, the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative, and the UC Institute for Research in the Arts. He has exhibited artwork and performances at cities around the world, including Dubai, New York, Montreal, Tehran, Hong Kong, Anaheim, San Diego and Santa Barbara. He is also founder and co-curator of the Museum of Sensory & Movement Experiences, a Santa Barbara-based museum dedicated to interactive and media artworks. Pinter is a contributing author to The McGraw Hill Multimedia Handbook and The Ultimate Multimedia Handbook. He is an inventor on over 70 patents, issued and pending, in the areas of live video technology, robotics, interactivity and telepresence.

JoAnn Kuchera-Morin, Speaker - JoAnn is a composer and multimedia artist. Her research focuses on creative computational systems, multi-modal media content, and facilities design. She uses her technique of music composition and performance to create and explore complex systems using a distributed computational platform designed much in the same way as an orchestra, where the server functions as the conductor and the clients as members of the orchestra. Kuchera-Morin received her PHD in Music Composition from the Eastman School of Music University of Rochester in 1984.

Carlos Grasso, Speaker - Carlos, an Argentinian native, is gaining notoriety for his “Mind Tapestries” series, his immersive installations and his previous “Canvas Deconstruction” paintings, also known as his “shredded” series. He has spent over 45 years abroad in France and the United States, where he has not only transitioned from a professional musician to a full-time artist, but also moved from representational art (which he studied under master David Leffel) to abstraction, mixed media, installations, and conceptual art. In his studio in Ojai, California, one can find torn canvases, found objects, and disproportionately large brushes – the tools of an inquisitive and imaginative mind. With these, Carlos weaves a variety of stories and employs a range of techniques. Throughout the years, Carlos has exhibited his work in numerous museums and galleries, including the LA Art Show, The Museum of Ventura County, The Santa Paula Museum, Ojai Valley Museum, Art Share L.A., OCCCA (Orange County Center for Contemporary Arts), Building Bridges (Santa Monica, LA, Bergamot Station), and the San Diego Art Institute. His collectors can be found all across the United States, Italy and France.

Kat Walsh, moderator - Kat Walsh is the Founder & Host of Trip On This podcast, a psychedelic educator, guide, and event host. Featured in prominent publications like Forbes Magazine, Kat's voice has continued to expand and create an accessible bridge for those new to their psychedelic and spiritual journeys. Prior to launching Trip On This in December 2020, Walsh worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry working with talent at Creative Artist Agency (CAA), developing series as Director of Development at Edyson Entertainment, and overseeing major marketing campaigns for BMW, HBO, and Freeform. While life looked glamorous on the outside, it often felt like a monotony of routine, endless stress, and a distant love that felt out of reach. It wasn't until psychedelics entered the picture did life transform from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Kat has now dedicated her life to helping others uncover their own power and potential. She left the safety of her corporate life to follow a dream and now guides others in taking their own leap of faith. Kat’s podcasts Trip On This and Life With Kat Walsh are available on all major podcast platforms.
