Dyspraxic Grit
A Divergent Discussion with Ryan Hoare
For many dyspraxic people, everyday tasks can take more effort, concentration and energy. Things that seem simple to others can require constant adjustments, from writing and organising to navigating physical spaces and getting through the working day.
In this Divergent Discussion, Ryan Hoare will explore Dyspraxic Grit - the persistence that develops when you have to keep trying, adapting and showing up.
Drawing on his own experience of dyspraxia, Ryan will also explore what changes when we stop expecting people to push through and start removing unnecessary barriers.
We’ll explore:
What Dyspraxic Grit means and how it develops.
The hidden effort behind everyday tasks.
How repeated challenges can shape confidence and persistence.
Why support and adjustments matter.
How we can reduce friction instead of expecting people to simply try harder.
Who is this event for?
This conversation is designed for:
Dyspraxic and neurodivergent people
Parents and families
Teachers and education professionals
Workplace leaders and managers
HR, People and Culture and inclusion professionals
Allied health and mental health professionals
Anyone wanting to better understand dyspraxia beyond the stereotypes
What you’ll take away
You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the effort that can sit behind everyday tasks for dyspraxic people, a different way of thinking about persistence and resilience, and practical ideas for reducing the barriers that make everything harder than it needs to be.
This isn't a conversation about celebrating how much dyspraxic people can endure.
It's about recognising the effort, understanding what sits behind it, and asking what could change when people don't have to spend so much energy simply keeping up.
Join us for an honest and thoughtful Divergent Discussion about Dyspraxic Grit and what happens when we stop expecting people to be resilient in the face of unnecessary barriers.
