Description
Essential Training for new, old, and prospective volunteers and friends!
Supporting community can be incredibly rewarding, but to do this effectively its important to feel confident in what to do when things go wrong.
This training covers the knowledge, language and skills required to create supportive environments for LGBTQIA+ community members and fellow volunteers alike, and will also provide an introduction / refresher on Diversity ACT's reporting, escalation and incident response procedures for those who wish to volunteer with Diversity ACT in 2026.
This weekend's training will be delivered by Tarn Lee - a counsellor and trainer with a rich history of supporting LGBTQIA+ communities (including many years of supporting teams at Qlife!).
This weekend, Tarn will be providing essential training to Diversity ACT Volunteers both past, prospective (including undecided) and new volunteers, on creating safe community spaces, and recognising and responding to stress in LGBTQIA+ communities.
