The curtain rises — lamps awake,

Rows of diyas their promise make.

Drums begin with thunder’s grace,

And smiles alight each new dancer’s face.

Voices weave in golden thread,

Stories of good from darkness spread.

Children sing with hearts so bright,

Echoing tales of love and light.

Ghungroos chime on rhythmic feet,

Each step the beat of joy’s heartbeat.

Colours whirl in radiant play,

A festival born of night and day.

From sitar strings to laughter’s ring,

Every act a lamp we bring.

Together we perform, rejoice, and see — Diwali’s light lives in you and me.
