Join us for Diwali Fest 2025 on Friday, 17th October, as the University of the Sunshine Coast, Moreton bay campus comes alive with colour, music, and joy! This yearβs celebration promises to be bigger and brighter than ever, bringing together students, staff, and the wider community in the true spirit of Diwali β the Festival of Lights.
From 5:00 PM to 8:15 PM, the campus will be transformed into a vibrant cultural hub featuring:
β¨ Bollywood DJ & Dance Floor β Groove to the latest Bollywood beats and timeless classics, with a live DJ setting the energy high throughout the evening.
πΈ Henna Stalls β Experience the beauty of traditional mehndi designs created by talented henna artists.
π΄ Authentic Indian Food β Treat your taste buds to delicious free Indian food, sweets, and snacks, with a special golgappa (pani puri) stall bringing you a favourite street-food experience straight from India.
πΈ Photo Booth β Capture your festive moments with friends at our themed photo booth, complete with colourful props.
πͺ Diya Painting β Take part in a creative activity by painting your own diya (traditional oil lamp) to carry home as a keepsake.
π¨ Rangoli Art β Admire or even join in creating stunning rangoli patterns with coloured powders, showcasing artistry and tradition.
π Best Dressed Competition β Dress up in your brightest and most festive attire for a chance to win an exciting gift.
π Diwali Prayer β Reflect and connect with the deeper meaning of Diwali in a short, inclusive prayer ceremony honouring light, hope, and unity.
This event is open to all students and UniSC members β whether you are celebrating Diwali for the first time or continuing a cherished tradition, everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
