Event description

The Gold Coast Passport Rotary Club is hosting a fundraiser for some of the worst affected by COVID-19 and what better time than as part of the Festival of Light, Diwali. Diwali is a festival of new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness.

As many nations are forging forward with a new normal in a post-COVID-19 world, the situation in India remains dire with over 33.7M cases and 447,000 lives lost to date, and an average of 30,000 new daily cases. The country has a shortage of medical facilities and equipment to treat the sick.

The Rotary Foundation Australia has partnered with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s Community Enterprise Foundation in order to bring support to areas with the greatest need in India.

The Gold Coast Passport Rotary Club is partnering with our local community in order to bring a night of festivity and celebration to mark the Festival of Lights and raise some much-needed funds for our brothers and sisters in India.

You are invited to share in this cultural celebration that will include belly dancing, fire twirling, raffles and much much more. The celebration will take place on Friday 5 November at Saffron in Broadbeach from 6.00 PM (suggested parking at Pacific Fair and walk over)

Tickets for this event will be limited due to COVID-19 venue restrictions. Please note that it is a cash bar and a raffle will take place on the night.

The ticket fee includes a drink on arrival + buffet style meal.

(Dietary requirements will be catered for - please email gcpassportrotary@gmail at least 48 hours prior to event)

Join us in doing good whilst soaking up some amazing entertainment, music and great company.
