Event description
Learn how to create habitat for native pollinators and pest controllers such as native bees, wasps, skinks and geckoes using recycled and natural materials. After a short presentation about the importance of urban wildlife, let your imagination go wild as you help create shelters to support creatures at City Farm (part of our 'Nature in the City' project) and also make one to take home.
This is a workshop designed for adults, but children over the age of 12 are welcome to buy a ticket and join their parents.
This workshop will be delivered to comply with current government health advice, maintaining distance between participants and good hygiene.
Please bring any small, recycled container such as an old ceramic or plastic pot, a clean can, or small wooden box that you would like to upcycle into a fauna shelter to install in your backyard, and a water bottle.
All this is set in the grounds of Perth City Farm, non-profit community environmental centre that provides space and opportunities to cultivate connection, and educates and enables all of us to live sustainably with nature. Revenue generated from workshops supports our Farm.
This session is supported by a grant from the Communities Environment Program from the Australia Government Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.
