Djaaliny | Beyond Planners and Reminders How Executive Skills Really Develop
Description
All Saints' College is pleased to present Djaaliny | Beyond Planners and Reminders: How Executive Skills Really Develop with Lillian Tan on Wednesday 19 August, from 6.00pm – 7.30pm.
Lillian Tan is an educator and ADHD coach with over 19 years of experience working with young people. She currently teaches at All Saints’ College and is the founder of B.I.G. ADHD Coaching, supporting adolescents and families to better understand executive functioning, emotional regulation, and ADHD-related learning and wellbeing challenges.
Drawing on both educational and coaching perspectives, Lillian specialises in the intersection of adolescent development, nervous system regulation, and executive functioning. Her work focuses on helping young people build practical, sustainable strategies, as well as confidence and self-understanding.
In this session, Lillian explores why some capable young people struggle to get started, stay organised, manage emotions, or follow through—even when they genuinely care.
This parent-focused session will unpack executive functioning through a developmental lens, offering insight into the skills that underpin planning, organisation, attention, and independence. Lillian will also examine why common approaches such as repeated reminders or increased pressure often fall short, and share practical, compassionate strategies to support young people experiencing stress, overwhelm, and ADHD-related challenges.
