Djeran Hiking & Picnic - Ages 12-18

Join us for a free guided hike and picnic, with First Nations cultural knowledge sharing!

On Sunday 26 April, come out to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful bush at Lesmurdie Falls.

Our free trip includes Kaatadjiny Wort-Baranginy (First Nations knowledge sharing) and a guided hike with The Hike Collective. Enjoy free food and drinks, play board games, and yarn with your friends and meet new people.

Please make sure to sign the waiver here before the day. Under 18 year olds need a written letter from their legal guardian granting permission to participate in the tour.

We are excited to welcome Noongar Elder, Uncle Neville Collard from Nyungar Birdiyia who is providing Aboriginal cultural knowledge. Our partner Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service will also be participating in our Djeran Hiking & Picnic event.

Important information:

• Please wear pants, enclosed shoes, sunscreen, and a hat as protection. Bring a rain coat in case it rains. We will consider weather before the event - if it is unsafe we may need to cancel and hopefully reschedule.

• Aim to arrive 15 minutes before the hike to sign in

• Note that the trail has some uneven surfaces down to the waterfall base and you will need to watch your footing

• There are toilets at the top carpark at Lesmurdie Falls Picnic Area where we will begin

• The Hike Collective guide is first aid trained - they carry a first aid kit and have a citizens band radio to allow communication in an emergency.

• Meet at Lesmurdie Falls Car Park at the top of the falls, on Falls Road in Lesmurdie. Go to the bitumen carpark after passing the two gravel carparks. Parking here can be tight as it is a popular destination. If the carpark is full on arrival, please head to the gravel carpark, and find your way to the bitumen carpark by foot.
