Do You Feel Me? (Exploring Empathy)

Empathy shapes how we connect, communicate, and care for one another—but what happens when we experience it differently? In this engaging lecture, educator and coach Devyn Stone examines the complex role of empathy in relationships of all kinds. Together, we’ll explore what empathy really is (and isn’t), whether it’s necessary for healthy connection, and how people who struggle with empathy can still build ethical, fulfilling relationships. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of emotional attunement, new ways to interpret others’ feelings, and tools for building connection rooted in honesty and self-awareness.

Presenter Bio

Devyn Stone, ECIP-E (he/him) is a queer, neurodivergent, and disabled author and Equity-Centered Inclusive Practices Educator whose work focuses on trauma-informed, neuroinclusive, and decolonizing approaches to sexuality, leadership, and authority transfer. A Leatherman and longtime community organizer, he has taught and mentored in kink and relationship dynamics since 2014.

Devyn is the author of The Affirming Handbook, Why I Don’t Own Them…Yet…, and the Quick Reference Rainbow series. He founded Pragmatically Kinking and serves as the Executive Producer of THRIVE, a virtual conference centering neurodivergence, mental health, and BDSM.
