Join us for the inaugural DO24 Design Jam, a collaborative event where creativity meets innovation to tackle one of Melbourne's most pressing urban challenges: revitalizing the city center in the era of remote work.

About the Event:

The DO24 Design Jam is held in collaboration with the City of Melbourne and Mantel Group. This one-day event will gather 30 designers, innovators, and strategic thinkers to address the challenge of reinvigorating Melbourne’s CBD, focusing on enhancing the vibrancy and functionality of office spaces to attract professionals back to the heart of the city.

• Expert Insights: Kick off the day with an expert presentation on the current challenges and opportunities for Melbourne's urban landscape.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Participate in focused, small-group sessions facilitated by team leads and coaches to brainstorm and develop innovative solutions.
• Solution Development: Engage in creating concept prototypes, policy recommendations, and service design blueprints aimed at transforming office spaces into vibrant hubs of creativity and collaboration.
• Pitch Your Ideas: Present your solutions to a panel of judges and receive constructive feedback to refine your concepts.

Participant preparation:

Pre-work before DO24 Design Jam day will ensure you are well-prepared to engage meaningfully and armed with valuable context and comparison perspectives.

1. Prepare key questions for City of Melbourne Stakeholders
   Take your time to prepare your questions in advance for the City of Melbourne stakeholders. If your questions aren't answered during their presentation on the problem space and insights, you can ask them afterwards.
2. Research and Benchmark other cities (at least 2 cities)
   This will help you understand how other cities are addressing barriers to visitation.
3. Research on current urban tourism trends
   This will help you gain insights into current trends and innovative practices in urban tourism and visitor engagement. E.g. gamification strategies, smart city solutions, etc.
