Event description

Doctor Time is a comedy action short film where a whacky superhero adventure unfolds as a teenager discovers his true powers! This much anticipated locally made film will premiere alongside other short films celebrating youth and diversity.

The screening is presented by Upside Down Arts and will feature films from the award winning and inclusive Bus Stop Films, also music videos from All One Under The Sun, a local program and 'remedy to racism'. The films and songs share stories of friendship, the overcoming of challenges, school encounters and some cabaret, Kung Fu, dancing and superhero antics just for fun.. come along for the ride with Doctor Time!

A special screening of the music video and mini doco for 'Gotta Dream' will also show, this is the debut single from The Half Time Show, a band of neurodiverse young people from Coffs Harbour.

Doctor Time was filmed in Bellingen and Sawtell with a superhero team played by Raji Renshaw as Doctor Time, Luke Goody as Black Wolf and Nya Ennis as Sun Light with Flynn Iredale as the exuberant villain Evil Time.

Many of the films feature persons with a disability with a focus on Down syndrome. All funds raised from sale of tickets will go to Celebrate T21, an advocacy and support organisation 'changing the narrative' for persons with Down syndrome.

Audience advice: Films best suit an older child and teen audience however everyone will enjoy the stories and fun. Two of the films present as PG with a few insults and a theatrical fight scene. One film has a moderate emotional scene that resolves happily.
