    Event description

Presented with Pedal Power ACT, and in conjunction with the 2024 Sustainable Transport Street Party in Braddon.

Bring your best friend along for this gentle roll from the north bank of Lake Burley Griffin to the dog play area at Haig Park, then stroll to the inaugural Sustainable Transport Street Party in Mort St, Braddon. Please take a leash for your dog as organisers are expecting thousands of people at the street party, and many will be test riding bikes and scooters.

This ride is open to anyone who is already carrying their dog on a cargo bike, basket, or backpack. We cannot allow any dogs to be running beside bicycles. It's a risk to your dog, and other people on shared paths.

We'll meet at the National Carillon carpark, take car-free Wendouree Drive, then stick to the paths along Constitution Ave, into the City via Allara St/City Walk, Garema Place, then along Northbourne Ave into Girrawheen St, finishing at Haig Park.

The Sustainable Transport Street Party runs 12pm-5pm on the corner of Elouera and Mort Streets, which will be reclaimed by people, cycles, e-scooters, food trucks and stalls. It's a chance to learn more about sustainable transport options, and meet people, organisations, and businesses all trying to improve our collective quality of life.

Pedal Power will have a stall showcasing its range of social rides, personal accident insurance, and advocacy successes. Canberra by Bike will have several types of cycles ranging from commuters to a cargo bike and cargo trailer for zero emissions deliveries.
