Must Love Dogs and Comedy: Where Laughter Meets Life-Saving Impact

Welcome to the happiest place in NYC! (Yes, Time Out New York really said that about us.)

Must Love Dogs and Comedy, Inc. is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that's redefining what comedy can do. We produce dog-friendly live comedy shows that serve a dual mission: raising funds for animal rescue while creating paid opportunities for underrepresented comedians across the country.

🐾 Our Story

What started as one rescue dog's story has grown into a movement. Our founder adopted her beloved pup Knope from a Louisiana shelter in 2017, and that personal rescue mission inspired something bigger: a way to combine professional comedy with life-changing impact for dogs in need.

🎤 What Makes Us Special

Every Must Love Dogs and Comedy show is more than just a night of laughs:

Bring your pup! Our shows are dog-friendly, so your furry best friend can join you for a night out on the town
Adoptable dogs join us at select events, making it easy and accessible for audience members to meet their future best friend
A portion of every ticket sold goes directly to animal rescue organizations and shelters
Diverse lineups featuring primarily Women, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and POC performers
All comedians are paid and receive professional photos and videos to advance their careers

🏆 Our Impact

Since our founding, Must Love Dogs and Comedy has:

💰 Raised over $32,000 for animal rescue organizations
🐕 Hosted 5,000+ dog-loving attendees nationwide
🎭 Booked 500+ diverse comedians nationwide
📍 Produced 100+ events across the country
📺 Been featured on PBS's Emmy Award-winning docuseries Shelter Me (30-minute episode: "Funny Bone")

💜 Our Mission

We exist at the intersection of the pet industry, animal rescue, and comedy, and we're here at the "pawfect" moment. With pet ownership at an all-time high and shelters overwhelmed, we're using the proven power of comedy to:

Save lives by raising awareness and funds for dogs in need
Amplify diverse voices in an industry that still needs more representation
Create safe, supportive spaces for performers to shine
Educate pet parents about the best ways to care for their furry companions
Champion adoption over shopping for pets
