"Dogs and Ferrets" An interactive workshop and presentation
Event description
Transportation became a common punishment in 18th Century Britain, sometimes for the lowly crime of poaching game.
Using songs and actual trial transcripts, folk duo Celtic Ferret aka Jean Reid & Ian Bartlett will explore the practices of pre 20th Century poachers and their interactions with gamekeepers and in their communities. Scripts and a well-stocked props box will ensure those at the workshop can let loose their inner actor, recreating a courtroom scene or two from history.
