DON’T LET COMPLIANCE KILL YOUR SUSTAINABILITY STORY
Description
Sustainability communication is facing a high-stakes shift.
Cost-of-living pressures and growing scepticism are changing what audiences care about, while tightening regulatory scrutiny is making brands increasingly cautious about what they say. At the same time,
AI-driven search is changing discoverability, increasing the value of specific, well-supported information over generic sustainability promises.
The challenge isn't just making sustainability sound good — it’s proving your progress without getting trapped between greenwashing and silence.
This session breaks down the major trends reshaping sustainability communication and shows how compliance can become a creative guardrail rather than a blocker - helping brands build stories that are clear, credible and discoverable.
What We’ll Cover
Shifting Value Drivers: How cost-of-living pressures are reframing what audiences care about — from carbon and circularity to durability, health and affordability.
Compliance as a Creative Guardrail: How legal and regulatory expectations can make messaging sharper and more trustworthy rather than sanitising your brand.
The AI Discoverability Factor: Why specific, structured and evidence-backed sustainability information is becoming more important in search and AI-driven discovery.
