Description

The Fellowship of Australian Writers Western Australia has launched

an appeal to raise essential funds to continue to operate our facilities and support our writing community.

Each year FAWWA spends around $7,000 to maintain both Tom Collins House – the home of the Australian author, Joseph Furphy, and Mattie Furphy House – the home of his daughter-in-law, a prominent artist.

Costs, however, are increasing! We do not receive any government assistance but, instead, rely on grants and income

generated through memberships, donations, writing groups and events.

Our fundraising efforts will focus on the maintenance of our two unique heritage properties and our beautiful gardens. Funds will also support grants for writers and

micro-residencies, plus the payment of guest authors for our speakers’ program. We would greatly appreciate your help to preserve our properties and

keep our creative community thriving.
