Dorrigo - Introduction to Holistic Management - with Brian Wehlburg

A two-day introduction to the key concepts of Allan Savory's Holistic Management. Participants may then wish to step into further learning to understand the processes that drive Holistic Management - Holistic Grazing Planning, Holistic Context and Decision Making, Holistic Financial Planning, Ecological Monitoring and Holistic Land Planning.

· A sound understanding that nature functions holistically and the 4 Key Insights to manage land holistically (Holism, the effect of Atmospheric moisture at soil surface, understanding the 'time' in grazing and herd effect).

· A deep understanding of the 4 Ecosystem Processes - Water and Mineral Cycles, Solar Energy Flow and Community Dynamics (Biodiversity). How covered soil is the foundation of these processes.

· A solid grasp of the tools humans use to change the environment with a particular focus on the use of livestock as a positive environmental tool.

· Understanding the Ecological Diagnosis tool.

· Understand managing Complexity and how to sustain positive change.

· An introduction to the benefits of Holistic Financial Planning and Holistic Grazing Planning and the benefits of a Grazing Chart.

Attendees on this course will come away from the two-day training with some deep insights on how to manage land better, as well as solid knowledge on how they can manage their livestock as a positive tool to build biodiversity and soil health. The knowledge they will gain will give them great hope through creating healthy, profitable and stable communities through healthy landscapes.
