Dots+Loops HEAR US NOW

Dots+Loops is honoured to present HEAR US NOW, an evening of music highlighting the voices of survivors of childhood sexual abuse and child abuse.

Doors open 7.00pm, music 7.30pm till 9.30pm

In a groundbreaking commissioning project by violist Ella Beard, their intimate performance validates, reflects, and amplifies the experiences of those who have been victimised, offering an opportunity to meaningfully and empathetically engage with these realities. The program features new works for solo viola by Australian composers Emily Sheppard, Robert Davidson, and Hilary Kleinig,

Accompanying this performance, composer/producer MJ O’Neill blends and reimagines her compositions across a four-deck DJ arrangement, giving space for reflection and lending solidarity to the evening's complex catharsis.

HEAR US NOW creates a safe, supported space for difficult conversations, one that is grounded, reflective, and carefully held.

Tickets

To make sure everyone can join in, tickets are Pay-What-You-Can-Afford, minimum $20. We encourage those with the means to do so to pay more, enabling us to put this event on while keeping it accessible to those in our community who may be experiencing financial difficulties. If it is within your means, our suggested ticket price is $30. Every little bit helps support Magandjin/Brisbane's vibrant arts community and the amazing artists in the Dots+Loops family.

The Raven Cellar is located on the basement floor of The Raven Hotel. Unfortunately the venue is not wheelchair accessible – access is via a set of stairs (there are 12 steps, and there is a handrail). The Raven Cellar entrance is via Raven street at the back of the Raven Hotel. Patrons are welcome to enter and exit the space as they please.
