Violinist Flora Wong launches her debut EP ‘Geburtstag’, a collection of works for violin commissioned in celebration of her violin’s tenth birthday, ranging from a mesmerising duet for violin and mechanical metronome to a loop-based tribute to Meanjin’s climate activists. Joining us from Ngunnawal Country, Shoeb Ahmad interrogates meditation and dissonance through improvisation, punk, sound art, and minimalist electronic practices, in a set bringing together electric guitar noise, field recordings, analog synths, voice and pedals. To round off the night, MJ O’Neill brings the underground dance vibes with a set showcasing her earliest influences – rave music from the early 1990s.

Tickets

To make sure everyone can join in, tickets are Pay-What-You-Can-Afford, minimum $10. We encourage those of you with the means to do so to pay more, enabling us to put this event on while keeping it accessible to those in our community who may be experiencing financial difficulties in these strange times. If it is within your means, our suggested ticket price is $35. Every little bit helps support Brisbane's vibrant arts community and the amazing artists in the Dots+Loops family.

We will have a limited allocation of free and discounted tickets available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and any people who can't afford the ticket price. To gain access to this scheme, please contact us or send us a message on the Dots+Loops Instagram for more information.
