Event description

Darwin Pride is on a Roadshow to Katherine! On September 12, all the glitz of Darwin Pride will be in town for a mini movie festival and an absolutely fabulous night of Drag Queen Bingo!

Rock up to Katherine Star Cinema at Midday for all the fun of these gorgeous movie features:

  • Feature 1: Love, Simon (PG, 2018)
Everyone deserves a great love story, but for 17-year-old Simon Spier, it's a little more complicated. He hasn't told his family or friends that he's gay, and he doesn't know the identity of the anonymous classmate that he's fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing.
  • Drag Territory Intermission
Get ready to be entertained by the glam-fam of Drag Territory as they lip-sync their way in to Katherine and provide an intermission worth missing out on your choc-top top-up!
  • Feature 2: The Birdcage (M, 1996)
In this remake of the classic French farce "La Cage aux Folles," engaged couple Val Goldman (Dan Futterman) and Barbara Keeley (Calista Flockhart) shakily introduce their future in-laws. Val's father, Armand (Robin Williams), a gay Miami drag club owner, pretends to be straight and attempts to hide his relationship with Albert (Nathan Lane), his life partner and the club's flamboyant star attraction, so as to please Barbara's father, controversial Republican Sen. Kevin Keeley (Gene Hackman).
