A One-of-a-Kind Masterclass
Led by Mark Phillips - Founder Mark Phillips Fundraising Associates (UK)

Australia and New Zealand are entering a defining decade for fundraising.

We are experiencing one of the largest intergenerational wealth transfers in history. Structured giving continues to grow. Public generosity remains evident in moments of crisis. Yet across the sector, many organisations still describe income as volatile, retention as stubborn, and growth as hard-won.

Why?

This full-day masterclass confronts that question directly. It goes beyond campaign tactics and incremental optimisation to examine whether structural growth is possible and what would need to change to unlock it.

Too often, fundraising still relies on urgency and sympathy to drive response. That approach can generate spikes in income, but it rarely produces compounding value, deep loyalty, or a sustainable pipeline into higher-value giving and Gifts in Wills. Durable growth requires a clearer understanding of donor motivation, lifetime value and the strategic choices that either expand or suppress long-term income.

Drawing on qualitative research, behavioural insight and decades of applied experience across the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Mark Phillips will unpack where the real headroom sits and what may be limiting progress.

Across the day, you will explore:

The mathematics of lifetime value and why it is frequently misunderstood
What genuinely shifts retention and long-term donor commitment
How to position for the dominance of the 55+ cohort
The strategic implications of the intergenerational wealth transfer
The scale of opportunity within mid-value and high-capacity donors
How everyday fundraising decisions influence your future Gifts-in-Wills pipeline
What Gift-in-Wills growth truly requires
What may need to stop in order for growth to accelerate.

This is not a passive session. It is a serious working day for leaders and fundraisers who are looking for growth. You will interrogate assumptions, test your current model and surface the constraints that rarely get discussed openly.

Most importantly, the day does not end with theory. Mark will translate insight into action. What should change in your proposition? Where should you focus your investment? How should you adjust segmentation, stewardship and leadership conversations? How do you deliberately build a donor journey that matures into mid-value support, major gifts and ultimately Gifts in Wills?

What You Will Leave With

You will leave with sharper clarity about where real growth sits in your organisation and where effort may be misdirected. You will gain practical direction for strengthening retention, unlocking mid and high value potential, and deliberately building a pipeline towards Gifts in Wills. You will better understand how today’s acquisition, stewardship and proposition decisions shape tomorrow’s legacy income.

You will also leave with stronger evidence and language to influence executive and board-level conversations about long-term investment, lifetime value and sustainable legacy growth.

If you believe the next decade represents more than incremental gains, this masterclass will give you the framework and confidence to pursue growth that compounds, matures and endures.

Seats are limited across Brisbane, Sydney, Auckland, Melbourne and Perth in July 2026.
