Doublinszki and Price - Baroque to Bebop

Peter Doublinszki and Elsen Price present a duo programme where Baroque music, jazz improvisation, and Hungarian folk influence meet in a single, evolving performance.

Works by J. S. Bach, C. P. E. Bach, Handel, Charlie Parker, and others, alongside original compositions, form the starting material. Treated as open form, this repertoire becomes a shared field for improvisation, where Baroque performance practice and jazz are understood as parallel approaches to invention. Structure is not fixed, but tested, stretched, and reshaped in real time.

Guitar and double bass function as equal voices in continuous dialogue. The music unfolds through listening, response, and gradual transformation, with form emerging in the moment rather than being predetermined.
