"Down the Rabbit Hole" with Tradd Cotter & Irene Dubin
Event description
Greetings!
Please join the Sonoma County Mycological Association in welcoming Tradd Cotter and Irene Dubin to Sebastopol!
"Down the Rabbit Hole" is a fun and educational presentation covering an assortment of mycological topics and ideas based on Tradd's previous and future work. Come listen to the latest research and what may be on the horizon involving fungi and civilization. Open your mind and heart to the Kingdom Fungi!
From cultivation to building materials and mycoremediation to psychedelic mushroom research, Tradd has explored almost every application with fungi. Other topics in the presentation will include antibiotic research, advancing mycopesticide opportunities to replace chemical pesticides and astromycology.
Tradd Cotter is a best-selling author (Organic Mushroom Farming and Mycoremediation), microbiologist, professional mycologist, and organic gardener, who has been collecting and tissue culturing native fungi in the southeast and cultivating commercially and experimentally for almost thirty years. In 1996 he founded Mushroom Mountain, which he sold in 2001. He now operates Blue Portal, with partner Irene Dubin, the lead psychedelic psychotherapist of Blue Portal Wellness. They also operate several daughter companies designed to delve deeper into specific applications with fungi in various industries. Irene and Tradd currently maintain over 300 species of fungi for food production, mycoremediation of environmental pollutants, and natural alternatives to chemical pesticides.
This presentation is open to the public, but if you'd like to become a member of SOMA and learn even more about mushrooms, fungi and mycology, please consider joining. We also facilitate monthly mushroom outings at Salt Point State Park and host the annual, 3-day SOMA Camp in January.
We also have events like the SOMA Holiday Dinner Fundraiser, which is occurring right after this presentation! If you would like to join (and there are tickets left!), register as a member first and see the details here.
