In honor of this milestone, we are thrilled to present the Visionary Changemaker Award to longtime disability advocate Charlie Carr, whose leadership has shaped DPC and the disability rights movement in Massachusetts.

Long before DPC existed, Charlie's leadership, advocacy, and commitment were already helping to shape the disability rights movement in profound and lasting ways. As one of DPC’s founders, he brought that vision and experience into building an organization that has had a meaningful impact on the lives of so many people. His influence extends far beyond DPC itself, and his work over the years has built the foundation of the disability rights movement we see today. In his current role as DPC's Legislative Liaison, Charlie's leadership and example continues to guide our community-based advocacy.
