Join us for a day of discovery, fun and innovation where you can explore cutting edge research, join in on our tours, speak to industry experts at our Info hub, family fun in the kids corner or simply enjoy the Institute's beautiful landscape.

Chickpeas for the future
Come down and see how we breed better chickpeas to feed the world. Â Have a look at the different chickpea types, plot harvester, tractor, glasshouses and other parts of the National chickpea breeding program.
Small cereal plots with big impact
Join us to scout out how our researchers and their trials work to create solutions for issues our local growers are facing. From trial design to harvest and everything in between, we’ll show you how it all works and the machinery we use to get the job done.
Turning water into food for livestock
Stroll through the plots with our scientists and learn about how their research helps producers grow pasture to feed their livestock. Discover how soil moisture can help determine potential pasture production – in dry and wet times. Also find out about current research exploring the potential of pastures to reduce livestock emissions.
