    Event description

Join Tweed Shire Council's Sustainable Agriculture Program for a workshop with renowned pasture ecologist and grazier, Dr Judi Earl. Judi will share insights into managing for soil health and ecosystem function on grazing lands. Through her extensive experience in land planning and holistic management, Judi can guide you towards unleashing the full potential of your land and enterprise. The key to climate resilience lies in healthy soils and thriving ecosystems within a thoughtfully designed-for-purpose property.

    The workshop will consider:

    • The importance of plants for soil health
    • How defoliation effects plant roots
    • Grazing management for optimal pasture growth and production
    • How Council's Sustainable Agriculture Program can help you

    About Judy:

Judi gained a PhD in pasture ecology when she conducted the first studies describing the benefits to pasture composition from planned grazing. She has extensive experience in how grasslands and pastures respond to grazing and fertility management and is a widely respected speaker on these matters. Through her consultancy business, Agricultural Information and Monitoring Services (AIMS), Judi's main area of interest is working with land managers to enhance the condition and productivity of their land through understanding of ecosystem function and more effective utilisation of available resources.

    A light lunch will provided.
