Dr Peter Brukner OAM is coming to Tangambalanga!

Dr Brukner is the Founder and Chair of Defeat Diabetes and was named the 2025 Victorian Senior Australian of the Year.

A world-renowned sports medicine physician, Peter has served as team doctor for professional football clubs and Australian national athletics, swimming, soccer and men's hockey teams, including at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. He was Socceroos Team Doctor at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, later became Head of Sports Medicine and Sports Science at Liverpool Football Club, served as Australian Cricket Team Doctor, and was a consultant to the Melbourne Football Club's 2021 premiership team.

Peter is also co-founder of the SugarByHalf public health campaign and has dedicated his career to improving health through better nutrition and physical activity. He is the bestselling author of A Fat Lot of Good (2018) and The Diabetes Plan (2023), and created the app and web-based Defeat Diabetes program to help people improve diabetes management through dietary change.
