DRAG'D OUT BEECHWORTH is back for 2023.
Drag'd out is a Queer, inclusive Festival of the Arts. It celebrates all people within the LGBTQI+ Community and their allies. The festival's diversity will bring together people from all walks of life as a positive platform and safe space, enabling these cultures to explore themselves, educate audiences, and spread the love with entertainment. We have engaged a youth component throughout the Festival and our local schools will also be involved, which is very important to us.
The event now in it's second year will be held over the weekend of the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th November 2022 in the picturesque township of Beechworth, in Victoria’s High Country.
Supporting local artists, we’ve also invited some of Australia’s headline drag performers and DJs to provide a professional and spectacular four days of drop-dead diva Drag, mixed with a fabulous pop of Disco darlings.
The Festival will kick off with a Welcome to Country then a Welcome party at the memorial hall on the Thursday Night. Spectacular drag shows from our Kings and Queens.
Friday has shows at Billson's Brewery early afternoon.
The Prince of Polyester BOB DOWNE and special guest star Cindy Pastel will entertain at the Memorial with a hilarious show.
The Camp Street Party is back bigger and better than Last Year, dance the night away with Australia's Top Dj's, Drag Queens & Kings, and fire performers, entertaining you til pumpkin o'clock,
The Saturday day component will be roving performances with super camp games such as drag bingo & trivia (more info coming soon there may be a drag bike ride for those enthusiastic visitors?). Saturday Night will be a fabulous spectacular at the Memorial Hall with our headline events DRAG N WINE "our early show” then the same show again DRAG N DINE a cabaret-style Drag show that includes a 2-course dinner and a bunch of chocolates to take away. There’s also a limited amount of VIP seats up for grabs for the late show, so don’t dilly dally doll.
Sending the Saturday festivities into the star-studded night, we finish with THE AFTER PARTY also at the Memorial Hall, where we can disco down with internationally renowned DJs plus more show-stopping Drag until 1am
Sunday is FROCK UP FAMILY Fair Day at the Police Paddocks from 10am - 5pm. Join us on the main stage for the big finish as our cast of Drag Divas provides family-friendly entertainment, there’s something here for everyone. We will have delicious food stalls, face painting, plenty of fabulous games & competitions, live music, DJs, plus a gorgeous array of educational and health booths. We encourage all attendees to arrive fabulously frocked as there will be talent scouts roving for the best prize. The final schedule for Sunday’s event will be released closer to the date. It’s free for Kids under 16 accompanied by an adult.
Sunday Night we finish off with Vonni's Poxy Concert in the Memorial Hall a talent quest like no other, maybe you will see the next big thing first at Drag'd Out Beechworth
It's an exciting and glittery spectacle darling, we hope you are as excited as we are to showcase this incredible art form. Drag is such a fabulous performance of self-expression and together we shall dust off the mirror ball and polish those cha-cha heels for a weekend of sheer delight as we all get DRAG’D OUT in BEECHWORTH!
