On August 1st, we’re taking the Quad Club back to the high energy of 1979’s new wave post-punk era of patterned carpet, moody lighting and the promise of a new technological revolution on the horizon, setting the stage for three of Naarm, Melbourne’s most exciting new bands: Dragnet, Speccy and Annual Leaf.

Exploring the distinct raw sounds and comedic irony that is typical of the local post-punk / rock scene, Dragnet’s six-member band masterfully navigates the audience through chaotic synthetic landscapes and the grit of bittersweet nostalgic memories.

Speccy’s energized four piece leaves a wake of post-punk, garage, shoegaze and jangle pop debris for their fans to pick up after them, while Annual Leaf, another four piece, colours outside the lines of our minds with catchy pop fizz grooves and melodies.
