Dragon Boat Festival
Event description
Celebrate with us! 🐉 Join UQU International Collective and APS for an exhilarating evening of culture and community, with plenty of tradition and lots of fun, too. 🥠 There’ll be hands-on crafty workshops and fun games, tasty rice dumplings to eat, live music and dance performances, and even the chance to hop on a real dragon boat yourself! 🌊
Originating in South China, the festival has been celebrated for more than 2,000 years, when it was a way to worship the Dragon God or Water God. The large wooden boats are shaped and decorated in the form of a Chinese dragon.
